Amusnet Interactive was previously known as EGT Interactive, the online branch of the larger EGT, which stands for Euro Gaming Technology. Though the land-based games are the flagship product, and both are widely available, we will mostly stick to the online games in our review. These include slots, video poker, live casino games, and lottery games.
From the origins of the company, you can probably guess that the games go heavy on classic features. That doesn’t mean you wouldn’t find a couple of surprises here and there. We have also listed all the casinos that offer these games as part of their selection. Feel free to browse and read our reviews, or jump straight into the action.
Company Background
To understand where this software comes from we need to look back into the history of the parent company. EGT was founded in 2002, in the city of Sofia in Bulgaria. Their first year was spent producing their first game. Keep in mind, they’re a brick-and-mortar publisher, which means also building the machines and not only programming the games.
As the years started rolling, the company began increasing the size of the catalogue. This led to establishing of different game series, and the success of these led to expansion across Europe. Jackpots came into the play too. Only a handful of years later, in 2006, the company had already expanded overseas, establishing a presence in Latin America. In 2010 the company received their certifications from Gaming Labs International, followed by an ISO certificate in 2011.
At this point, the company was pretty well established and had in fact several product lines running. This also includes table games, some of which allowed for multiplayer solutions. Awards, innovations, and expansion followed. For example, in 2015 the company established new production facilities in Tanzania. And that success keeps on pushing the company to new markets and jurisdictions.
Rebranding for Online Games
But what about online casino games? EGT Interactive was launched in 2016, making it a relative newcomer to the scene of online casino games. This was to be the digital brand presenting the parent company online. Naturally, they had a ton of games to work with. At first, they started porting old and successful titles into online casinos.
The progress was quick, and during the first year in operation, this new division managed to convert nearly a hundred games for online players to enjoy. Thanks to the late arrival on the scene, it was easy for the company to ensure mobile and desktop compatibility from the very beginning.
However, besides porting old games it doesn’t seem like the company was up to much. They certainly didn’t enjoy the sort of success they had had producing land-based games. Perhaps this is the reason why in 2020 EGT Digital was launched to oversee all iGaming, and why in 2022 EGT Interactive was rebranded as Amusnet Interactive. Or perhaps this was to simply use an easier and more recognisable name. At the same time, the company started concentrating on producing new games, and perfecting their software platform to offer and support the games in all sorts of ways. This would include adding in jackpots and support for bonus rounds.
Classic Online Slots
Let’s have a look at the classic side of things first. After all, this is the original product line from Amusnet. Specifically, we are talking about the “Hot” line-up of slots. These include games like Flaming Hot, Burning Hot, Supreme Hot, Dazzling Hot, and many more.
What do these games have in common?
Paylines, three or five reels, and a familiar set of paylines. Most of these games trend towards high variance and big payouts, but you will find titles that go the other way. All of them concentrate on basic gameplay, and special features are a very rare sight amongst these games. However, the gamble feature is something that is present in all of them.
And to this list, you can add pretty much the whole first line-up of games released by Amusnet. They remain quite popular, even if some of the games have even chosen to embody that nostalgic look and feel that you get from very old fruit machines. It’s not for everyone, but the group of players who like these sorts of games definitely find the slots interesting and enjoyable.
Other Casino Games
There are just a a handful of slots, if even so many, that break away from the norm of five reels combined with paylines. Thumbelinas Dream is one example, sing 255 ways to win. Later games do add in bonus features. For example, in Viking Rising you’re welcomed with bonus spins, multipliers, and mystery choices. Rainbow Luck offers bonus spins with a boost zone. But that’s pretty much as far as these games go experimenting with specials. Amusnet is a producer that trusts in the original tested and true methods. Later titles do come with special bets, that increase the chance to scoring bonus features.
You’ll also find a selection of other games. Some of these are dice slots, which play pretty much like normal slots. There are a couple of keno titles, such as Keno Universe, Hot Keno, and Burning Keno. These are rather simple lottery games. You can also play a handful of video poker titles, such as Joker Poker and Jacks or Better.
Rather surprisingly, you will also find a list of table games. There are a couple of automated roulette games, but more importantly, also live dealer games. This is an area that is still being developed, but clearly, the investment into studios has been made. At the moment, it’s limited to roulette games, but these have some interesting twists and side bets, that can lead to wins 500 times the bet. Quite a bit more than in normal roulette.
Jackpot Cards
Amusnet has its own system of progressive jackpots. This isn’t present in all the games, especially in the older ones. However, quite a few titles feature this special. Not only in slots, but present in keno games too. It’s of course based on a random chance, with the possibility of triggering on any paid spin. The chance of triggering does correlate with bet size, though not massively.
The feature itself, should you be lucky enough to trigger it, has a bit of an animated bit before moving into the special where you pick from 12 cards. Match enough of them, and you’ll win the pot corresponding to one of the four suits.
Bonus System
Though most of these games take it pretty easy when it comes to features, the company itself has noticed the needs for bonus spins. That is, the need for casinos to give their player no deposit and deposit bonuses. The ability to give out bonus rounds by casinos to players is available for most Amusnet slots.
Another rather unique set is the Egypt Quest. This is a special feature that is available on six different games from the company: Egypt Sky, Rise of Ra, Circus Brilliant, Halloween, Burning Hot, and 20 Super Hot. This special can only be triggered in one of these slots, and it will take the player to a mini-game of its own. Presenting a different set of reels, the player is given a chance to score one of the four jackpots. These are different from the Jackpot Cards system.
What Makes It Special?
The games can be roughly divided into two categories: legacy games from the original EGT selection, and a bit more modern take based on the newly established Amusnet. The first one of these is an excellent choice for anyone after that nostalgic experience. That’s not to say the games wouldn’t follow modern standards when it comes to things like graphics, mobile support and sound effects. Though for this there are exceptions too.
The more modern selection feels like an update to that experience. Whereas most other software producers have gone the way of incorporating more video game -like approaches, Amusement has chosen to keep the classic slot experience alive. And to improve on it. The result is quite unique, even if basic sort of gameplay experience.
The Legal Side of Things
Amusnet and the parent company have presence in pretty much all of Europe, and this comes with the benefit of local licences too. This includes important licences like that of Malta Gaming Authority, but also smaller national market like the Romanian gambling licence. Further certification is taken care of by companies like BMM Testlabs. These certify the games for different jurisdictions, making sure they adhere to all national standards.
The land-based operations expand on this, and the parent company is part of several international bodies and associations. We’re sure that with this company you can always expect a completely and provably fair gaming experience. Try it out, especially if you’re into classic casino gaming!
