Football fans across North America are eager to witness another Super Bowl classic on the weekend as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers. British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s sports betting platform, PlayNow, has once more prepared some exciting novelty bet options, such as if Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift.
PlayNow is B.C.’s only regulated online gambling platform, and it is the only site whose proceeds are invested into the province in sectors such as healthcare, education, and community programs. The portal is also equipped with numerous player protection tools, such as setting time and money limits and more to encourage responsible play and educate gamblers on the risks.
Super Bowl LVIII Odds Released
One of the most exciting betting options for website users this year is whether Kelce proposes to Taylor Swift after the big game with odds of 11.60. Another is if the American singer, songwriter, and actress will make an unexpected halftime appearance at 6.00, and how many times she will be shown on the broadcast over/under 5.5 times.
Dan Beebe, BCLC Chief Operating Officer said the NFL is the most bet-on sports league on PlayNow, and the Crown corporation wanted to focus on the hype of Kelce and Swift’s relationship. He added that these kinds of bets allow casual bettors and new users to place their wagers on not just the winner of the Super Bowl, but on all surrounding drama off the field.
The Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers on February 11, 2024, at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. In the final, the 49ers will try to avenge their Super Bowl LIV loss to the Chiefs from four years ago. But, this time. The 49ers are heading into the final as 2-point favourites on the iGaming platform, and have plenty of valuable assets such as Brock Purdy.
Still, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who already boasts two Super Bowl rings, is the sportsbook’s betting favourite to win his third Super Bowl MVP award with 2.20. Other betting favourites for MVP are Purdy with 3.00, 49ers’ running back Christian McCaffrey with 5.00 and Kelce with 13.00. PlayNow explains there will be approximately 650 bets for the final.
Betting on the First Baby of 2024
It is quite common for BCLC to offer a wide range of thrilling novelty betting options for its many bettors. At the end of 2023, the Crown agency’s PlayNow started its annual betting on where the first baby of the new year will be born. BC Women’s Hospital was the favourite odds set at 3.5, but the first baby arrived at exactly midnight at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster
But despite its vast selection of wagering options, player health is always high on the agenda for the Crown and its efforts were acknowledged. BCLC was recently awarded a Level 4 certification from the World Lottery Association. It is the highest possible level granted by the WLA’s Independent Assessment Panel for tremendous effort in player health programming
