The largest casino in Canada, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is now officially opened to the public. This week, the 328,000-square-foot property held its grand opening and its 4,800 slot machines, 145 live table games, VIP rooms and sports betting terminals are available to patrons. This was the first phase of the opening of the CA$1-billion resort.
It should be mentioned that the gaming resort is operated by Great Canadian Entertainment. The company is one of the leading operators of land-based gaming facilities across Canada. It currently operates a total of 25 sites, across Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Providing stable and well-paid jobs to numerous Canadians.
Guests are Welcome
In a statement from the gambling leader, Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Anfinson, shared that the operator was pleased to finally launch Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto to the world. In its press, the company informed that the resort’s 400-room hotel will open later this summer. It will be equipped with a wellness centre, with an indoor pool, fitness equipment, steam room, and sauna.
But that is not all of its amenities as, in the coming months, the resort will also launch its state-of-the-art 5,000-person live show venue. It will become the home of various live events. The company signed an exclusive booking partnership recently with Live Nation Canada, which will help it bring the world’s most popular artists to the venue.
In addition to it exceptional gambling, hospitality, and entertainment amenities, the resort also offers a selection of premium stores and dining options for guests, including grab-and-go diners. It was estimated by the company that the new resort will generate CA$500 million in economic benefit to the province, and employment for nearly 2,000 staff members.
Furthermore, Mr. Anfinson said the company’s teams worked tirelessly for several years to create a unique entertainment experience which patrons will remember for quite a while. He commented the first opening phase was incredibly exciting for the corporation, and that they are now looking forward to the next stages, and launching the hotel and live theatre.
Rebranding and Renaming its Brand
Last year, Great Canadian Entertainment entered a new era of its history as it completed a rebranding process. Prior to that, the company was known as Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. Its decision to do so, was in correlation with the times and overall situation within the Canadian gaming field over the last few years.
The casino operator’s timely implementation of the new branding is geared towards strengthening its presence in both online and offline domains. The company strived to establish a fresh industry benchmark while embracing the growing significance of online gaming. In line with this objective, the introduction of a new corporate website will facilitate a smooth transition. The escalating popularity of online gaming in recent years was also a factor.
