Artur Rudziankov won his first gold bracelet this Monday during an unscheduled Day 4 session. The poker pro won the 2017 World Series of Poker Event #58 $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em and received $395,918 for his fair play.
Rudziankov is a 29-year-old student who was born in Minsk, Belarus, but has spent the last 19 years in Prague, Czech Republic. The first tournament he takes part in took place back in 2015. He finished second at Event #30 $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em and went home with $219,976. This proved his name as one of the future leading ones in the poker world.
Rudziankov’s win is only the second bracelet victory for the Czech Republic in the history of the tournament. The first Czech player to become wide-known for his gold bracelet winning was Tomas Junek, who won the same $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event back in 2012. This $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em tournament attracted more than 1,760 entrants and amassed a prize pool of $2,380,050, which was divided among 265 players who cashed during the four days.
At the final table, Rudziankov had the chip lead until Mario Prats Garcia from Spain and Christian Rudolph from Germany decided to take the lead and moved up the leader board. Thanks to a late string of knockouts and the elimination of Mario Prats Garcia, Rudziankov turned the tables again and climbed back to the top. Mario Prats Garcia was born in Barcelona, but is currently residing in Prague earned $244,611 for reaching the second position.
Before this final table and almost quarter-million cash, Prats Garcia had only $833 cash from previous WSOP events. Timothy Miles from Florida finished third and won $176,455 at the final table, competing with poker names such as Arman Zolnoorian, who finished fourth, and Christian Rudolph, who managed to climb to the fifth place. The heads-up duel between Rudziankov and Mario Prats Garcia found Rudziankov with the chip lead and made his dominance even easier to accomplish.
This was Artur Rudziankov’s biggest cash from a poker tournament, prior to the one he pocketed this Monday. As of this day he has more than doubled his career winnings in the World Series of Poker making them a total of $665,864. Before his last game, he had earned $269,946 in 11 previous World Series of Poker cashes. He managed to make up for the close call he had in 2015.
