Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is one of the four commercial casino properties in the upstate region, which debuted operations back in 2017. Also, the casino is a popular working destination, as it was named a Top Workplace by the Times Union for five years in a row. Applicants are advised to bring with them proper identification and their resumes.
Plenty of Jobs Available
In its statement, the casino reminded that the hiring event will be on March 28, 2023, at its Event Centre and that there will be around 50 job vacancies in different positions. The Rivers Casino Human Resources team will hold on-site interviews with candidates who express interest in one or several of the available positions at the upstate casino.
Some of the available job openings range from security officers to dealers and casino supervisors. There are also food and beverage, hospitality, and marketing positions. Also, applicants must be at least 18 years old for some of the jobs, and a minimum of 21 years of age for others. The HR team reminds everyone who will attend to bring their work resumes.
Approved applicants must also undergo criminal background checks, before being officially recruited. They would also need to acquire a gaming license approval from the state while also demonstrating personable and positive attitudes as well as scheduling flexibility. Once all of these are done, they will be able to join the casino’s team of professionals.
The full-time positions come with paid time off, medical/dental/vision plans, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition, fitness reimbursement programs, and discounted meals. All positions also feature complimentary shuttle bus service from the local CDTA blue line stop. There will also be stage two academies to train recruits who want to become casino dealers.
More on the Schenectady Casino
Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady takes great pride in contributing to the local economy as last Thanksgiving, its staff members donated over 300 turkeys to local charity organizations. Some of the organizations were Bethesda House, City Mission of Schenectady, Food Pantries for the Capital District, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, Joseph’s House & Shelter, Safe Inc. of Schenectady, Saint Joan of Arc Senior Meal and others.
The casino’s gambling brand is also available online, as on January 8, 2022, Rush Street Interactive, which operates the property, launched its mobile sportsbook app. The app along with Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, and FanDuel became the first platform to give a start to the state’s online sports betting market, which this March reached over US$20 billion in total betting handle.
