A few days ago, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation reported another life-changing lottery win recorded in the Province of Ontario. The winner of a CA$60-million Lotto Max jackpot has now been revealed, and her name is Camellia Kazemi Talachi from Richmond Hill. Ms. Talachi usually plays her own numbers, but this time the Quick Pick brought her an amazing win.
Lotto Max is a nationwide lottery game that offers a chance at a jackpot worth up to CA$70 million. There are also Maxmillion prizes which become available after the main prize goes to CA$50 million and above and each of those comes at a hefty CA$1 million. The game is drawn twice per week, once on Tuesday and once on Friday.
Ontario Identifies Another Major Winner
The fortunate winner shared that she stopped at a gas station and opted to check her Lotto Max ticket without knowing that the winning one worth CA$60,000,000 was sold in the region. Once the ticket was scanned by the clerk, a winning melody started playing, but she did not know the amount of the winning until the OLG contacted the store and confirmed the CA$60 million figure.
Ms. Talachi said that upon hearing the tremendous news her life flashed before her eye and had trouble realizing that she had won such an amazing amount which even brought tears of joy. She shared the news with her family when she got home, and initially, her sister did not believe her. But once the news settled everyone started to jump up and down with happiness.
It might take some time for the winner to come up with a plan on what to do with the life-changing prize money, but she already has some ideas. She intends to be an entrepreneur and create jobs for others. Since she is an art enthusiast, she wants to travel around the world and witness landmarks. Also, she plans on sharing the experience with her loved ones.
According to the press release from the OLG, Ms. Talachi’s winning ticket was purchased at the Bayview Kitchen Food Fair on Bayview Avenue in Richmond Hill. Currently, she works in sales but with her overwhelming winning, she might even consider a change of career. Her ticket was drawn as the sole winning entry in the November 29, 2022 draw of the game.
More Ontario Winnings
Over the years, Ontario lottery players have cashed out some impressive prizes in both Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49. One of those big winners is 54-year-old Manoharan Ponnuthurai who in January 2022 collected a CA$70,000,000 prize from Lotto Max. He also relied on luck via the Quick Pick option which turned out to be in his favour for the December 17 draw in 2021.
And on a more recent note, recently the OLG announced that another Ontario local has won an amazing prize in Lotto 6/49. This time the winner resides in Sault Ste. Marie and is now eligible for a CA$48 million jackpot. According to the Crown corporation, the lucky player has already contacted the agency and there are in early discussions about claiming the Gold Ball windfall.
