The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation continues to improve its offerings and has most recently added more payment options to its OLG.ca. This time the Crown has introduced new online payment options for the secure and intuitive purchase of digital lottery products on its website or on the OLG app via Direct Pay, without having to deposit money first.
OLG is a state-run agency that provides safe and responsible lottery and gambling entertainment to the people of Ontario. It oversees and regulated brick-and-mortar casinos, lottery offerings, online gaming, and bingo and electronic products in charitable gaming centres. And since its establishment in 1975, it has contributed over US$55 billion to the economy of Ontario.
Easier Purchase of iLottery Products
With the addition of Direct Pay as a payment option, Ontarians who have a verified OLG.ca account can now purchase single tickets or lottery subscriptions online. It applies to Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Daily Grand, Ontario 49, Daily Keno, Pick-2, Pick-3, Pick-4, and Encore. With the new option, tickets can be purchased directly via Visa or Mastercard, without having to deposit money into e-wallets or OLG first.
In the press release, Amanda Marshall, OLGās Vice President of Digital Product Integration, commented that as a gaming provider in the country to offer Direct Pay, the Crown is ahead of its competitors. She added that by investing in OLGās payment options, the Crown is able to support its plan to put customers first while also delivering a top-notch gaming experience.
Additionally, the Crown corporation has also informed the local public that it will accept direct payments via PaySafe. The brand is a leading specialized and secure payments platform, which works with VISA, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, and qualified prepaid cards that are issued by Canadian banks. OLG users will also be able to use the previous payment options through e-wallets.
The Crown corporation promotes responsible gambling across all of its verticals and provides online player protection tools and educational materials from its renowned PlaySmart program. Direct Play also shares a similar approach, as it offers player tools, such as purchase limits which help bettors make more responsible choices when gambling.
Speaking of player protection programs, in September, the OLG, debuted an improved and rebranded self-exclusion version of āMy PlayBreakā. Bettors should know that this version comes with enhanced flexibility and choice when they want to take a break from gambling. It is now available across the Crownās land-based casinos, charitable gaming centres, and OLG.ca.
Signing John Tavares
Most recently, OLG has also announced a partnership with the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, John Tavares. Via this agreement, the Mississauga-born athlete will become a brand ambassador for the Crown agencyās sports wagering brand PROLINE. Additionally, he will also engage with fans at public or promotional in-person or online events.
