Mansion Goes Live in Ontario via Playtech

More and more gaming brands enter Ontario and its newly regulated online gaming and sports betting sector. Most recently, leading online gaming provider Mansion Limited announced that it will debut titles in the province via Playtech. This latest agreement will further strengthen the long-term partnership between the two, and present the supplier’s content to the passionate Ontario bettors.

Mansion Limited is a major gaming-related supplier which has been in business from its Gibraltar HQ since 2003. The company caught the public eye in 2006 as it became the official sponsor to the EPL team Tottenham Hotspur. Since its debut in the industry, its brand has become prominent for its regulated gaming, conducted at the highest possible values and standards.

Through the latest agreement, Mansion has now gone online on its award-winning Casino.com and Mansioncasino.com brands. And as part of the agreement, Playtech’s innovative IMS platform will deliver a complete online backend solution. The combined effort of the two leading brands will provide an industry-leading offering to a whole new audience in Canada’s most populous province.

In April, Ontario kicked off its online gambling and sports betting market for private operators, which is the first of its kind for Canada. It is overseen and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which has given the green light to Mansion to join. So far more than 30 operators and 40 websites are up and running in the new iGaming sector.

Shimon Akad, COO at Playtech, commented that the company is always looking to expand into new markets and reach new players. The COO said that the firm is pleased to go online in Ontario with Mansion, and believes that the province is a key market for the industry. In his words, the partnership demonstrates the strength of the company’s relationship with the gaming supplier.

Chris Block Group President and Chairman of Mansion shared that the provider is proud to be approved by AGCO to operate in Ontario. In his opinion, the market bolsters the company’s focus on expanding in new and regulated jurisdictions. He is also optimistic that the company’s two brands will resonate well with fans and promote safe and responsible gambling.

Deadline for Grey Market Operators and Q2 Results

In October, the regulator of the local market, the AGCO, finally took steps towards eliminating the grey-market operations in the province. The commission set October 31, 2022, as a deadline for operators to go online in the regulated market. If they do not cooperate brands risks potential penalties and rejection of their application for the new market.

Last month, the regulator also posted its official financial report for the iGaming market for its second quarter of operations or for the period of July 1 through September 30, 2022. For Q2 the sector’s online operators accumulated over CA$6.04 billion in a total betting handle, which translated into just over CA$267 million in revenue. There were also 628,000 registered active user accounts.
