According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the latest Lotto Max draw on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, has brought in some hefty prizes to locals. Two winning Maxmillion and one Encore ticket have been sold in the province. However, the game’s main prize – the CA$70,000,000 jackpot has remained unclaimed and will transfer to the next draw.
Lotto Max is a country-wide lottery game which offers some hefty cash prizes to its many players. It has two draws every week, one on Tuesday and one on Friday. The jackpot can reach the amazing CA$70 million, while once the main price crosses the CA$50 million mark, there are also Maxmillion prizes up for grabs. Each of them is worth CA$1 million.
Ontario Bags Some Cash Prizes
After the Tuesday draw, the OLG reported that a winning Maxmillion ticket worth CA$1 million was sold in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Meanwhile, a winning Maxmillion ticket has also gone to a ticket holder in Guelph. The winner here will be sharing the large windfall with a ticket sold in Quebec, as they both claim a hefty CA$500,000.
In addition to that, an Ajax ticket has been drawn as the winner of the Encore prize from the Tuesday draw. The winner will have a cool CA$100,000 to their name. Their winning numbers were 1195855. Meanwhile, the winning number combination for the main draw was 10, 12, 13, 26, 29, 39, 46, and then 23 as a bonus number.
Tuesday’s round of the popular draw-based game also saw four Maxmillion prizes go to different regions of Quebec. Winners need to contact their respective lottery and claim their payouts. The next draw is set for Friday, September 30, 2022, and the jackpot will once more stand at CA$70 million, while there will be also 39 Maxmillion prizes up for grabs.
Isabelle Jean, Executive Vice-President and Chief of Lottery Operations for Loto-Québec, said that locals have obtained some juicy Lotto Max prizes over the last year. For the last 12 months, the province saw over CA$1.5 billion in lottery payouts. With one of them being a winner of a CA$70 million jackpot from a ticket holder from Montérégie in June.
Prior CA$70M Winners
Over the last few months, Canada has witnessed several wins of a CA$70,000,000 jackpot from Lotto Max. In April, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation revealed that Dale McEwen from Saskatchewan has won the life-changing CA$70 million. He got his ticket from Alberta while he was on his way to a ski vacation, and his ticket was the winning one in the April 1 draw.
Prior to that, in January, the OLG announced that 54-year-old Manoharan Ponnuthurai has won CA$70 million from a Lotto Max draw. The Brampton resident opted for a Quick Pick option on his ticket and after 30 years of playing the lottery his luck has finally paid off. With the money, he plans to travel around the world, with Europe and the Mediterranean Sea in sight.
