Now in Ontario
This year the company made some serious expansion moves as the company debuted in Ontario and its private iGaming market for private operators via its division PointsBet Canada. Its CCO Nic Sulsky commented that the sportsbook is ecstatic about its launch in the province and that the early statistics and data are encouraging for its Canadian operations.
However, despite its impressive debut, the company was fined by the regulator ā the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario for its advertising and inducement breaches. The firm suffered a CA$30,000 fine for breaching Standard 2.05 of the provincial standards of online gaming. This happened after the sportsbook advertised free play with posters in GO stations and on GO trains.
