At the beginning of December, Manitoba-based Pollard Banknote Limited announced that it has been awarded a Mobile Convenience App Development Services Contract from the Minnesota Lottery. In translation, the Canadian lottery provider will be allowed to develop a fully functional lottery app for its partner for both iOS and Android devices.
Pollard Banknote is the main supplier of lottery products to over 60 lottery entities from all around the globe, supplying them with top-quality instant tickets, licensed games, Schafer Systems and Fastrak retail merchandising solutions, and more. Its catalog of services also features a full suite of digital offerings from mkodo game apps through iLottery solutions.
Brand-New App
Through this latest contract, Pollard Banknote will be able to develop a mobile app that will offer iLottery products to the population of Minnesota. It is expected that the online platform would come will convenience features, such s ticket scanning, GPS lottery retailer locator, along with information about the Minnesota Lottery, including its Responsible Gaming program.
The new app would allow lottery enthusiasts to use it to easily look up winning numbers from draws for jackpots. As well as create and save digital play slips, which can later be scanned at land-based retailers. They will be able to scan tickets to gain entry into the lottery’s 2nd Chance Program which provides them an additional winning chance at cash prizes and other rewards.
Adam Prock, Executive Director, Minnesota Lottery commented that the institution is quite eager to partner with the Canadian lotto provider in an attempt to bring a new iLottery app to life. In his words, the app would allow the organization to directly engage with local players while allowing them easier and more convenient access to the lotto products.
Byron Peterson, Senior Director, Sales & Marketing, Pollard Banknote has also said a few words on the agreement. He said that the company is pleased to extend its long-term partnership with the lottery entity even further by developing the new app. He also noted that the launch of such an app would be of tremendous importance for the lottery to cement its place and presence in the online gaming scene.
Massive Impact in the USA
As already mentioned, Pollard Banknote is a supplier of lottery products to over 60 lotteries from all around the world. In August, the company was awarded a contract extension by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, which is one more of its clients in North America. The new agreement became active on July 8, 2021, and will be for four additional years, with the option of an extension of three years.
The Manitoba lottery provider has quite the grasp on the USA market, as it also partners with the Texas Lottery. A while ago, the company praised its Texas partner for another impressive fiscal year. During last FY the Texas entity managed to once again break its previous records, with a new one of US$8.107 billion in total sales. This was the 11th year in a row, that the organization has improved on its previous results.
