Recently, the Canadian Gaming Association hosted its Annual General Meeting which took place on November 10, 2021. During which, the association elected four new members who will be joining its Board of Directors. The four new additions are FansUniteās Scott Burton, Nuveiās, Neil Erlick, DraftKingsā Jeffrey Hass, and Chuck Keeling from Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.
The association is a national trade one that is usually the voice of leading gaming operators and providers in Canadaās gaming, sports, eSports, and lottery sectors. The association has now added 18 new members to its team as well as adding new sports betting and eSports operators, payment companies, and many non-gaming suppliers
Newest Additions
One of the new additions to the Board of Directors is Mr. Burton who is the CEO of gaming giant FansUnite Entertainment. He has a rich resume as he has previously served as CEO of Askott Entertainment before its merger with FansUnite in 2020. Additionally, Mr. Burton is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 20 years of experience in management.
The next new appointment is Mr. Erlick who is the Chief Corporate Development Officer of Nuvei. Here he managed strategic business development in vital industry sectors, corporate partnerships, as well as enhancing the companyās growth in the North American regulated gaming market. Mr. Erlick has more than 20 years of expertise in the payments, sports, and entertainment businesses.
Mr. Haas who is the Senior Vice President of International Strategy for industry giants DraftKings will also be joining the associationās Board of Directors. He also boasts an impressive resume as he had a major part in the development and success of DraftKings, PokerStars, the World Poker Tour, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour, the European Poker Tour, and PartyPoker.
Last but not least is Mr. Keeling who is EVP, Stakeholder Relations and Responsible Gaming, at Great Canadian Gaming Corporation which is a company that operates over 26 casino properties in Canada. Mr. Keeling has been with the company for a long time since he was appointed as VP, VP, Stakeholder Relations and Responsible Gaming in 2013, and in 2019 he was promoted to Executive VP.
Prior New Members
Back in May this year, the Canadian Gaming Association officially partnered with a prominent eSports gaming provider and developer named Fandom Sports. The team-up came at a great time for the eSports provider as it was eyeing the countryās legalization of single-sports betting, which became a reality later in the summer.
On July 1, 2021, GameOn Entertainment Technologies also joined the association as an official member. The company offers numerous services including interactive and social predictions to many operators, broadcasters, TV channels, and OTT platforms. Now, the deal is set to help the corporation further broaden its footprint in Canada and receive access to many gaming studies, exclusive marketing, and advocacy on local gaming legislation.
