Warwick Mirzikinian secured a second big payday after outperforming a field of 26 in an intense 2-day long poker duel. In fact, Mirzikinian is a regular player in the Star Poker Room and he usually prefers high stakes games. The poker whale was very excited after scooping his second prize from the annual Star Sydney Championships, sharing that he is motivated to keep on steaming ahead in his poker career.
The $20,000 buy-in event attracted 26 players, who were competing for 2 days to determine who will be the champion. The event was dynamic, featuring levels, each lasting for 45 minutes. The first to leave the poker table was David Wang. However, the field was reduced to only two players, who entered the decisive heads-up match. Warwick Mirzikinian and Andy Lee were the two finalists who were competing for the biggest piece of the pie called āprize poolā.
Lee is also a well-known local poker player, who shares Mirzikinianās attachment to ātop dollarā poker contests. The two opponents took their seats at the final table, to determine who will be the next high roller champion. The two-handed play kicked off with Mirzikinian holding the chip-lead position. At that moment Lee was holding [As][Jc] against Mirzikinianās [Kc][7c]. The dealer flopped [7h][5c][5d] on the table and Mirzikinian decided to raise the bet to 200,000. Lee, on the other hand, showed aggressive strategy and re-raised the bet, shoving all-in. Mirzikinian called the bet and the dealer turned [2s], followed by [2h] on the river. Mirzikinianās pocket sevens secured him the title and the big money prize, while his opponent pocketed $148,200 for his runner-up position.
