Ontario 49 is among the most popular draw games Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has up for grabs. It targets players based in the province of Ontario and gives a great local alternative to the already popular Lotto 6/49. A lottery enthusiast hailing from Kingston is the latest lottery millionaire in the region, as he managed to bag the Main prize of CA$2,000,000.
Ronal Lloyd has his lucky stars to thank for this reward. The Crown corporation makes sure that patrons are always in for a treat with regular draws and generous prizes in store. Almost every day of the week brings a new opportunity for winning big. Today we will review some of the brand new lottery millionaires in Canada.
Ontario 49
Kingston recently had a reason to celebrate, as Canada’s latest millionaire lives in it. Ronald Lloyd became eligible for the grand prize coming with the Ontario 49 draw game. September 8 will forever be remembered as a special day for this individual, as this is when the fortunate draw took place.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation was looking for the winner and once he realized the lucky ticket is in his possession, he contacted the Crown corporation. Mr. Lloyd said that he has been playing lottery games for decades now, believing that the Main prize could make its way to his pocket. He was in the process of purchasing a lottery ticket for the upcoming draw. He checked the one he had and found out it is a winning one.
At first, as it often happens with lottery winners, Mr. Lloyd thought that he was eligible for CA$2,000 only. Only upon further inspection, was he able to realize that the prize was, in fact, CA$2,000,000. He needed some time to process it all and he even double-checked the winning at home. The next step was contacting the Crown corporation and arranging the ceremony at the OLG Prize Center in Toronto.
Hefty Prize
Mr. Lloyd then told his grandchildren about the great win and they could not believe their eyes either, when they saw the ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Princess Street in Kingston. The prize will now be shared between the winner and his immediate family. A purchase of a new vehicle is also in the plans.
Lotto 6/49 was quite generous over the past few weeks, as British Columbia Lottery Corporation confirmed that a resident of British Columbia was the latest winner of the Lotto 6/49 jackpot. According to the Crown agency, the lucky ticket holder has purchased his ticket in Prince Rupert. The October 6 draw for the game determined that 07, 18, 19, 38, 42, 46 are the winning numbers for this round and the bonus number was 31.
The CA$11.5 million prize will be split between the B.C. ticket holder and another lucky player from Ottawa. Loto-Québec also regularly introduces lottery offerings, as it recently revealed its new MÉGA 360 draw game. Prizes on the wheel range from CA$100,000 to the grand prize of CA$500,000 which can be won with a single spin.
