The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has revealed the names of the next Canadian lotto millionaires, as Donald and Janice MacDonald win a hefty prize in a recent Lotto 6/49 draw. The couple has won a Guaranteed CA$1,000,000 prize in the July 28 draw of the fan-favorite draw-based game and is now preparing to enjoy financial freedom.
Each week millions of Canadians participate in the two Lotto 6/49 draws with one on Wednesday and the other one being held on Saturday. According to data provided by the BCLC, Canadian lotto players have already claimed more than CA$60,000,000 in prizes from the game. Besides, the main prize, each draw also includes a Guaranteed prize of CA$1 million.
Game of Telephone
After finding out that they have won a Guaranteed prize of CA$1,000,000 from the Lotto 6/49 game, Mr. and Ms. MacDonald decided to announce it a fun way to their close ones. The couple took out two other couples for dinner and informed their friends by a game of telephone but none of them could react to the news, they said.
When claiming their cheque for CA$1 million at a BCLC office, Mr. MacDonald explained that they were both stunned after finding about the hefty winning. He said that he thought he saw the number CA$1,000 first but after putting on his reading glasses he saw all other zeros. The couple shared that they will celebrate the win but also plan on taking their time and picking the best way to use the prize.
Jackpot Claimed
This week Loto-Québec informed that last Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 jackpot has been won by a ticket holder from the province. The identity of the winner is still not known, but they will be pleasantly surprised to see that they are now CA$11,000,000 richer. The life-changing winning numbers during the August 28 draw were 06, 08, 09, 12, 19, 26, and 43 was drawn as Bonus number.
No Lotto Max Winner
The Crown agencies of Canada have also reported that no province has recorded a winner of this Tuesday’s Lotto Max draw. Unfortunately, no ticket holders matched the winning combination for the last draw and claim the CA$15 million main prize. The jackpot for the next draw on Friday, September 3 will now be a total of CA$20,000,000.
Maxmillion Prize Shared
Last week the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation revealed a very specific kind of win, as a group of thirteen co-workers has won a Maxmillion prize from Lotto Max. The group of colleagues has been playing together for years before their luck finally turning and winning CA$1,000,000. Some of them are already planning on purchasing new vehicles, traveling abroad, or simply renovating their homes.
The hefty prize will be now split between James Stewart of Beeton, A-Bau Thong of Brampton, Andrew Ennos of Whitby, Antonio Galardo of Toronto, Baney Persaud of Brampton, David Chanthaphone of Toronto, George Pagiatakis of Toronto, John Morrison of Newmarket, Paul Torresan of Caledon East, Stephen Browne of Barrie, Susan Slade of Ingersoll, Tony Watton of Innisfil and Werner Kehlbreier of Mississauga.
