According to reports coming from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, a fortunate ticket holder from Vancouver Island is significantly riches after the last Lotto 6/49 draw. The lucky one is from Parksville, and he or she will be splitting the main prize from the draw-based game with a ticket holder from Newfoundland and Labrador as each of them grabs CA$3,000,000.
Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max are by far the two most popular draw-based games in Canada. For 2021 alone, British Columbia players have managed to coupe up a total of CA$44 million in lottery prizes from the Lotto 6/49 game. Each week there are two draws for the game, one on Wednesday, and one on Saturday.
Two Winners
Last Saturday’s draw for the Lotto 6/49 has determined that the CA$6,000,000 main prize will be split between two ticket holders. One of the winning lotto players is from Newfoundland and Labrador, and the other one is located somewhere on Vancouver Island, and Parksville in particular. The winning numbers were 13, 15, 17, 25, 34, and 45, and both individuals will claim the hefty amount of CA$3 million each.
Lotto Max Draw
The Crown corporation revealed that the CA$70 million Lotto Max jackpot continues to search for its owner, as the grand prize remains unclaimed after Friday’s draw. The winning numbers for the grand prize were 11, 14, 15, 24, 34, 43 & 47. Bonus 36, but unfortunately no one from the country was lucky enough to match all seven of them.
However, there are still some major winnings recorded. During the last draw, there were 70 Maxmillion prizes up for grabs, each worth CA$1 million. The Crown corporation stated that out of the 70 prizes 33 have been won, meaning that 33 individuals are now millionaires thanks to the Lotto Max draw.
Out of the 33 Maxmillion winners across the country, seven of them are reported to be from British Columbia. The Crown agency revealed that the seven winners are from Hope, Chilliwack, Richmond, Duncan, Vancouver, Kamloops, and Burns Lake. Additionally, Prince George and Kamloops lotto players have won each CA$500,000 from the Lotto Max draw, and someone from Williams Lake has acquired CA$134,000.
Previous B.C. Lotto Millionaires
As already mentioned, British Columbians have already won some major prizes from the lottery this year. Patrick OLeary from Sooke has been one of them, as his Lotto 6/49 ticket was drawn as the winner of the guaranteed CA$1 million prize in a March draw of the game. Mr. OLeary shared that he celebrated the special occasion with his fiancé with a bottle of champagne.
This year Ying Chun Chen has also joined the special club of Canadian lotto millionaires as the Abbotsford woman was pleasantly surprised by her Lotto 6/49 ticket. In the March 6 draw of the game, her ticket was drawn as the winning one for the guaranteed prize one worth CA$1,000,000. Ms. Chen explained that she usually picks her own numbers and that the winning one was purchased at Freshco on South Fraser Way in Abbotsford.
