The past few months have been dynamically changing, as the unprecedented situation mandated flexibility in all professional fields. The gambling one is among them, as the province of Ontario saw several swift changes over the past couple of weeks. Businesses follow closely the health recommendations coming from the provincial government and act accordingly, as the safety of its patrons is of utmost importance at all times.

Next week is expected to see the official return of in-person gambling at Woodbine Racetrack following weeks of no gaming available. Casino Woodbine will resume its daily operation on November 14, welcoming back patrons ready to try their luck. Ontario’s provincial government recently made it clear that some businesses will get the chance to relaunch their operation in a safe manner.
It could be recalled that October 9 saw a change in the situation on a provincial level, as the government issued its recommendations. The casino operator made it clear that Casino Woodbine and Casino New Brunswick will have to temporarily close for business, a decision that came into effect immediately. Management has to remain as flexible as possible, as they should be ready to close their businesses at any given time if the province issues an announcement.
Back then, casinos, bingo halls, cinemas, theatres, and arcades suspended their operation until further notice. Gymnasiums and health centers also had to close for business. The change affected the Toronto, Peel, as well as Ottawa regions. The closure is going to be removed mid-November, reintroducing in-person gambling on the premises of the Thoroughbred racetrack.

Its daily operation has been supported by the gaming revenue the casino location is able to generate on a daily basis. The official reopening of the casino venue is expected to happen with all safety and health measures in place. Individuals making their way in will have to wear masks at all times during their gaming session and they will also have to keep in mind that the Food and Beverages outlets on the premises of the casino venue remained closed.
When it comes to the safety and health protocols in place, nothing is going to change since its first reopening on September 28. It was an important date, as it saw the return of in-person gambling following more than half a year without such offering in the region. The remaining ten Great Canadian Gaming casinos and gambling halls in Ontario have remained working without any hiccups.
It could be recalled that 2018 saw the Rexdale-Casino Woodbine Community Benefits Agreement being inked, spelling a great future for the casino location adjacent to one of the largest racetracks in Ontario. The expansion has been put on hold over the past year but it could resume in 2021.
