Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is here to make a new announcement regarding its daily operation in Atlantic Canada. Casino Nova Scotia is going to relaunch its gaming offerings on October 5, following the implementation of all safety protocols. Both Sydney and Halifax will see the return of in-person gaming come next month.
The two casino venues in question had to close for business mid-March taking into account everything happening across the country and around the globe. The safety of both casino patrons and staff members is of utmost importance, which mandated the closure of the hotspots. Exactly half a year later they are ready for their official reopening which will take place at the beginning of October.
October 5
Halifax and Sydney are preparing for the return of in-person gaming and all the impact this would have on the host community. The casino operator had been working with Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation, in order to come up with the most adequate plan for action during this reopening phase in the region.
This included the pinpointing of a reopening date on October 5, following the well-rounded introduction of all safety measures. Great Canadian Gaming Corporation had been working on its safety protocols for months now and earlier this month saw the presentation before the authorities making gaming possible across provinces. There is a total of 25 gaming hotspots overseen by the casino operator and each of them demanded an individual approach due to the unique layout of its casino floor.
The two gaming corporations worked hard on the plans introduced and both parties had something to add to them. Once the reopening plan was unveiled, provincial health authorities had the right to enhance them and give their two cents. Great Canadian Gaming would like to see the two casino locations return with 60 percent of their slot machines in operation.
Reopening Coming Soon
Both Halifax and Sydney are about to witness the return of in-person gambling with patrons limit. Each of the casinos will be able to welcome up to one-third of the original capacity of its casino floor, promoting physical distancing and making it possible for the individuals to safely make their way around the gaming hotspot. There will also be sanitation stations sprinkled across the casino floor.
Slot machines available right now will be thoroughly disinfected after each use and before the next patron could take their seat in front of them. During this first phase of the reopening, most of the gaming offerings will have to remain unavailable, seeking protection. Rod Baker, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, pointed out that once this launch is done, the casino operator would have only one province left to boost with its gaming.
It could be recalled that earlier this month, Great Canadian Gaming announced that the province of Ontario will very soon witness the relaunch of 11 Great Canadian Gaming casino hotspots ready to welcome their casino patrons. September 28 is scheduled to see their reopening. New Brunswick is the other location that will see the return of its in-person gaming at the end of this month.
