Woodbine Entertainment is once again ready to make the fall months even more riveting following months of no live events. The post-position draw for this year’s Queen’s Plate is scheduled to take place on September 9 and everyone interested will get the chance to watch the live stream online that Wednesday. Its start is at 10 a.m.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Canadian Triple Crown is set to transform the upcoming weeks of live racing at Woodbine Racetrack and individuals interested in the riveting races will have the chance to enjoy them. This year is about to bring the 161st edition of the CA$1-million Queen’s Plate and all eyes are set on the post-position draw.

Next Wednesday is projected to be an important day for the horse racing community of Ontario, as it is about to see the position draw related to the first race of the Canadian Triple Crown. September 9 is about to see the start of the draw at 10 a.m. and everyone interested will get the chance to watch it all unveil thanks to the online live stream Woodbine Entertainment has secured.
Racing analyst Jason Portuondo is set to be the host of the post-position draw and he is going to be joined by no other than Jim Lawson, President and CEO of Woodbine Entertainment. With the help of this draw, connections will be able to pinpoint their posts so that the live race could take place in the best way possible.
It should be noted that physical distancing will be respected at all times during the draw. The original date of this year’s Queen’s Plate was June 27 but the unprecedented situation made that impossible. Horse people had to brace themselves with patience and wait for the official relaunch of live racing without spectators on the premises of Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park.

September 12 is scheduled to welcome the 161st edition of this popular live race and as many as 16 probable contenders eye it as their chance of making it to the first place. August 15 saw the Plate Trial race which was won by Clayton, a Bodemeister-Smarthalf colt with his trainer Kevin Attard. In the meantime, Woodbine Mohawk Park recently saw yet another riveting weekend.
August 29 witnessed the 37th edition of the Pepsi North America Cup on its premises welcoming three-year-old pacers for the grand prize of CA$500,000. The purse managed to reach CA$1 million and top racehorses had a fair share of the pie. Tall Dark Stranger managed to become the first among all Standardbred participants.
Canadian driver Yannick Gingras saw his first win in Canada’s richest harness event. The second position at the end of this riveting race was reserved for Tattoo Artist who could not beat the best time 1:48.2. Moneyman Hill managed to finish third right behind the two of them. This was the sixth victory for Tall Dark Stranger during this live racing season.
