Recent research finds that Casino Rama in Orillia is the most Instagrammable gaming location in Canada. A website recently ranked the top ten highest-rated casinos in the country based on their TripAdvisor scores and the number of combined Instagram posts featured under their hashtags. Meanwhile, Niagara Falls’ Fallsview Casino Resort came in second.
Casino Rama is owned by the Chippewas of Rama First Nation and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, while its day-to-day operations are conducted by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. It first opened its doors in 1996, and it boasts a plethora of first-rate gambling options, as well as a 5,000-seat live entertainment venue and numerous dining amenities.
Leading Social Media Posts
According to the online gambling site’s latest research, the First Nation casino is the one with the most posts under Instagram hashtags with over 26,587 publications and a 3.5/5 score on Trip Advisor from more than 700 reviews. In second was Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls with 23,413 Instagram posts. The property kicked off operations in 2004.
Then the third most Instagrammable property was Casino Montréal which accumulated 21,329 posts under its hashtags such as #casinodemontreal. The property is the largest gaming venue in the country with 526,000 square feet of betting space and a TripAdvisor rating of 3.5/5 from over 3000 reviews, rating the resort as excellent.
Caesars Windsor Casino in Windsor, was in fourth with 10,890 posts, followed by Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls with 4,788, Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg with 2,676, and Casino Regina in Regina with 2,569. The last three on the list were Casino Charlevoix in La Malbaie with 1,558, Casino New Brunswick in Moncton with 830 and Casino Mont-Tremblant in Mont-Tremblant with 414.
Chief Marketing Officer of Lucky Days, Rich Lee, commented social media is a big factor in where people want to visit, and seeing photos of the casinos’ excitement is a way of attracting them. He noted that most of the properties in the top 10 are based in Ontario, and said it would be interesting to see if the increased social media presence has led to higher tourist levels in the area.
Tied for Most Search Casinos in Ontario
Meanwhile, Casino Rama and Fallsview Casino Resort also headed another chart. Based on research with data from ahrefs.com and Google Trends, the two casinos are the most searched land-based gambling destinations in Ontario. Unsurprisingly, the two leading properties share the first spot, each with a volume of 13 in Google Trends searches in the past 90 days.
The third spot was reserved for Pickering Casino Resort on 888 Durham Live Ave, Pickering, with a Google search volume of seven. The property is relatively new as it opened its doors in July 2021. Caesars Windsor Casino was next in line with a search volume of five. In fifth came Casino Niagara Resort, which is Fallsview’s counterpart in Niagara Falls with a search volume of four.
