Canada’s largest gambling property, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is welcoming eight-time Juno Award winner and Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee Tom Cochrane. The renowned artist is slated to perform at the casino’s new live intertreatment venue, The Theatre, on December 31, 2023, at 8 p.m. The casino will also announce more shows coming in 2024.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is the country’s newest and largest casino resort which cost approximately CA$1 billion to develop. It boasts a 328,000 square foot gaming floor, a 400-room hotel, indoor pool, wellness and fitness area, multiple dining options, private event and flexible meeting space, and a 5000-person live entertainment venue in conjunction with Live Nation.

Over almost 50 years in the music industry, Mr. Cochrane has achieved many great things. His career kicked off as a folk-based singer and songwriter in coffeehouses in Toronto in the early ‘70s. He joined the rock group Red Rider in 1978 as lead singer, together they issued nine albums with hits such as Lunatic Fringe, Victory Day, Human Race, Boy Inside the Man and many more.
He later started his solo career with his hit Life is a Highway from his breakthrough album Mad Mad World. The record sold over one million copies in the country alone and another six million across the globe. Thus, earning him a certified Diamond Status in Canada and bringing him a Grammy nomination in the United States.
As a solo artist and Red Rider member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Cochrane has won an impressive eight Juno awards. During his career he issued 21 albums and toured many times, winning over the hearts and ears of fans. His success has also seen him get a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and a 322 km section of Manitoba’s highway titled Tom Cochrane`s Life Is a Highway.

Canada’s Largest Casino Opens
As mentioned, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto kicked off official operations in June 2023. Canada’s largest casino floor is equipped with a 328,000-square-foot property that held its official opening and its 4,800 slot machines, 145 live table games, VIP rooms and sports betting terminals. It is on track to generate approximately CA$500 million in economic benefit to the province.
A few weeks after its opening, the CA$1-billion casino resort also launched its hotel portion. The hospitality part combines modernity, comfort, and excitement while being just minutes away from Toronto Pearson International Airport. It boasts around 400 first-class rooms with almost half of them having views of the nearby and iconic Woodbine Racetrack.
