The Canadian Football League has a special announcement in store, as it recently revealed that it has partnered up with the renowned sports betting operator FanDuel. Via the agreement, the brand is now the first authorized gambling operator and an official sportsbook partner to the league. Hence, delivering new offerings and experiences to football fans.

Starting from the new season, the operator will deliver exceptional CFL wagering experience, including market on a variety of in-game player props. This means props like anytime touchdown scorer, passing, rushing and receiving yardage, and more. Fans will be also able to place wagers on numerous futures bets, including which team will become Grey Cup champion.
Tyler Mazereeuw, the Chief Commercial Officer of the CFL, stated that responsible sports wagering was another way for the league to further its connection with fans. He added that in addition to enjoying their fun, fast, and entertaining brand of football, some fans might desire to engage with the game on a more personal level.
Dale Hooper, GM of FanDuel Canada said the company was pleased to work with the league and that they are excited to offer sports bettors a market-leading experience. He added the operator was eager to work with CFL and TSN to attract more interest in the exciting league and the next generation of stars by delivering insights that will up the overall experience for fans.
CFL implemented a Match Manipulation Policy with help from the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport to protect the integrity of the league from match-fixing. The e-learning course will educate CFL players and personnel about the policy and the risks associated with match-fixing. Fans can be assured that the CFL prioritizes integrity, and in partnership with FanDuel’s responsible gaming practices, aims to create a secure betting ecosystem.
Last year, FanDuel also inked a partnership with the National Football League for Canada. Via this lucrative agreement, the two sides are able to build on their relationship and grant exclusive betting company rights to the operator of the league. It also allowed the two to organize win trips to games, such as the Super Bowl.
CFL Partners with Another Private Operator
It should be mentioned that almost two years ago, BetRegal, which has been licensed to join Ontario’s iGaming market, also had an agreement with the CFL. This multi-year collaboration made the operator an official sports betting partner to the league. For the initiative, the company recruited Canadian Football Hall of Fame members Damon Allen and Matt Dunigan for its ambassador team.
