Caesars Windsor Casino in Ontario is offering career opportunities to those who wish to pursue a career at the gaming property. The casino announced that it will be providing free table games dealer training. It will also host an open house on May 2, 2023, where it will respond to questions and provide the opportunity for qualified candidates to register for the training.
Currently, operated by Caesars Entertainment, the casino is based at 377 Riverside Dr E, Windsor, ON N9A 7H7, offering a premium gambling experience to patrons. One of its largest departments is live table games, and at the moment employs over 250 full-time and part-time dealers. Soon the casino will be looking to add some new fresh faces to its roster.
Learning More about the Job
Susanne Tomkins, Manager of PR and Communications noted that the recently announced open house will give attendees a chance to learn more about the training. She explained that it will give opportunity to people to talk to some of the staff members, as well as go through the pre-screening levels, and go through a mock casino and table games.
For those who want to apply, there are some job requirements first. They would need basic mathematical aptitude, good manual dexterity, a passion for delivering tremendous customer experience, being able to work all shifts, being above 19 years of age and having a grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Those who qualify can begin training on May 8, 2023.
Ms. Tomkins further elaborated that training is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for four hours a day, and the whole training will stretch over seven weeks. She said it was an intensive training program, but after completing it, participants will be skilled in Blackjack, Baccarat, and Poker. They will receive a certificate that is globally recognized across the world.
Lastly, she said that the casino expects to have some job vacancies in the near future. Those who are interested in becoming part of the team can first attend the open house, which will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. It will run from 3 p.m. to around 7 p.m. at the gaming property’s TEAM Centre at 250 Windsor Ave.
Looking for Next Operator
At the start of April 2023, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation which owns the Windsor casino said it is now looking for its next operator. The OLG launched Request for Pre-Qualification process to hear from candidates who want to take over the property’s day-to-day gaming operations, once the current contract expires in approximately 2 years.
Meanwhile, at the start of 2023, the casino debuted retail sports betting via а new state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook. The news was celebrated by Unifor Local 444, which represents a major portion of the casino’s staff. President Dave Cassidy said the expansion would provide 100 to 150 jobs such as bartenders, kiosk staff, food services, and more
