Most recently, leading lottery partner and supplier, Pollard Banknote, revealed that it has been recognized with another prestigious award. This time, the company has been included in Manitoba’s Top Employers for 2023, which is an annual competition run by Canada Inc., and recognizes employers in the province with progressive and forward-looking initiatives.
The annual Manitoba’s Top Employers list is co-published by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and the Winnipeg Free Press. It is accessible to employers of any capacity, in the private and public sectors, and applicants are assessed on eight-point criteria. Some of them include physical workplace, work atmosphere & social, health, financial and family benefits, vacation, and others.
Testament to Its Commitment
In its press release, Pollard Banknote asserted that the award was a testament to its ongoing effort to deliver a safe, healthy, and overall positive working environment for staff and its continuous devotion to local communities. Its efforts consist of HR best practices to bolster the employee experience, boosting morale across the firm, and aiding in the recruitment and retention of the best talent.
Some examples of this, include the comprehensive financial and health benefit programs, as well as a focus on inclusion, employee recognition, and organized social activities. Staff is encouraged to actively get involved via membership in various internal groups such as Diversity Advisory Committee and Joint Planning Committee. The success is underlined by the high retention of talent as seen in its 25-year club members.
Co-Chief Executive Officer, Doug Pollard, commented that as a proud Manitoba-based firm, the company is pleased to be included in the list. He added that one of the goals was to be a well-run organization that is a great place to work. In his words, today, the provider touts a remarkable team of intelligent, skilled, and knowledgeable employees.
Margaret Proven, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, for the company, said the firm is not only a tremendous workplace but a great place to build one’s career since there were plenty of career and advancement opportunities at hand. She made it clear that the provider believed in internal mobility, recognizing that as a company it must be promoted from within.
Broadening Exposure in 2023
Currently, the Manitoba firm employs approximately 850 full- and part-time staff in the province and an additional 1,400 in its operations abroad, which help it navigate its expansion across markets. Most recently, the company announced a partnership with Premier Lotteries Ireland. Via the deal, its mkodo brand will update and optimize the lottery’s current website for a better user experience.
At the start of February 2023, the Canadian lottery partner also inked a lucrative agreement with Atlas Experiences, LLC. As part of this collaboration, the two will partner on the creation of a new multi-jurisdictional Frogger instant game program. It will allow lotteries to offer a grand prize and access to an integrated marketing campaign while sharing the costs across jurisdictions.
