Last week, AGCO informed that it has resolved a responsible-gambling program loophole which bettors may have taken advantage of. In order to solve the issue, the regulator has updated the rules to clarify the voiding and refunding of wagers for self-excluded users. It also requires operators to only fully refund a bet if a player enrolls with a self-exclusion program before the start of the event.
In the meantime, more and more operators are preparing for their Ontario debut. In February, gambling brand Betty announced that it has acquired over US$5 million from a suite of investors. With the money, the operator will fund its operations in the province, and it was collected from a group of investors led by Karlani Capital.
