Last week, Ontario’s regulated iGaming market for gambling and sports betting welcomed another third-party entity, Fitzdares made its way into the sector. The launch of the operator was facilitated by its long-term sports wagering and technology provider FSB. For the province, the operator will have access to the supplier’s sportsbook, iCasino aggregation, and back-office.
In April 2022, Canada’s most populous province became the first one to regulate an open and online iGaming market for private operators. Despite its infant age, the sector has gained massive traction and has already seen the debut of more than 40 operators and 60 websites. They are governed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and iGaming Ontario.
Fitzdares and FSB Arrive in the Province
Speaking on the launch in Ontario, Interim CEO of FSB, Adam Smith, commented that the entry is amazing news and a major milestone for the company, which now operates in the fourth major continent. He added that the achievement is even better when knowing they are entering the market with its long-term heritage partner and friends Fitzdares.
He continued by saying that the latest partnership between the two is a testament to the ambition to grow stronger and expand together with their partner across several jurisdictions and regulated sectors, much like the one in Ontario. He is now looking forward to having aspiring, ambitious and long-term participation in the province’s regulated model.
Meanwhile, FSB chief revenue officer Ian Freeman noted that the entry in North America is another example of a landmark for the company and continuing its momentum from 2022. He reckons that the province will be an important jurisdiction in their core markets strategy and the team is eager to have a massive role in one of the world’s largest and most regulated sectors.
Lastly, Mr. Freeman elaborated that the company feels privileged to work with its exceptional operational team within its customer base and the newest partnership with Fitzdares is instrumental to how the company operates. He believes that this is done hand in hand with partners and thus meeting organizational goals across its platform, product, and geography.
Latest from the Province
FSB and Fitzdares’ debut in Ontario comes on the back of Twain Sport’s announcement that the company will also join the jurisdiction as a legal entity. After being licensed as a supplier by the AGCO, the live sport vertical product from Hybrid Sports League and BetGames is allowed to offer its content to operators in the province.
After last week’s Super Bowl LVII, GeoComply announced that it has blocked over 9,000 illegal attempts in the province’s market from outsider bettors.
