British Columbia Lottery Corporation informs of another major scratch ticket win from the province of B.C. The name of the latest winner is Khalida Noori who on her wedding anniversary bought a CA$10 Jackpot Multiplier Scratch & Win ticket which ultimately brought her a prize worth CA$1 million. She will now buy a new home for her family.
BCLC is a state-run Crown corporation that offers regulated gambling and lottery options for the province of B.C. in a fun but responsible manner. The agency promotes responsible entertainment while also generating much-needed revenue to benefit all of its residents, as it supports community groups, healthcare, education, and more initiative in the province.
Life-Changing Money
While claiming her CA$1,000,000 prize from a CA$10 Jackpot Multiplier Scratch & Win, Ms. Noori shared more about her life-changing windfall. She said that one day she arrived home on the day of her wedding anniversary before picking up her kids, she then proceeded to select one ticket and scratched it. To her surprise, it displayed that she won an amazing prize.
Ms. Noori who lives in Coquitlam shared that after finding out the amazing news she immediately called her husband, but he did not believe her at first and said it was some kind of joke. Just to be sure, she verified her ticket via the BCLC Lotto! App, and then she and her husband visited the Crown agency’s Vancouver office before realizing the win was real.
With the prizemoney, Ms. Noori is eager to fulfill her lifelong dream of getting a home for her family. She also revealed that she feels on top of the world, and her life will be changed for the better with the CA$1 million scratch win. Her life-changing ticket was purchased at the Real Canadian Superstore in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.
It should be reminded that in the whole of 2022, British Columbians were able to cash out on more than CA$177 million in Scratch & Win tickets. In total last year, the BCLC paid out over CA$802 million in lottery prizes with over 100 million recorded winning tickets at retailers or online on PlayNow among locals. Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions generated the largest portion of the CA$802 million in winnings with CA$382.1 million in prizes. Then there was Thompson Okanagan region with CA$226.2 million.
Massive Slot Win in January
In January 2023, the Crown corporation also reported of a major online slot winning on its PlayNow platform. The lucky player Carrie Paquette from Moberly Lake has won a jackpot worth the hefty CA$961,022.85. She managed to win the mega prize by playing the MegaJackpots® Siberian Storm slots game but had trouble believing it at first.
