Loto-Québec urges lottery players to carefully check their tickets, as the Crown corporation is looking for five multi-millionaires. In a press release from this week, the agency announced that on Friday, December 16, 2022, a group of 10 residents won a jackpot in Lotto Max worth CA$40,000,000. Each of them will take home a solid CA$4,000,000 share.
Lotto Max is a country-wide draw-based game which offers some of the largest cash prizes in the Canadian lottery sector. The game is drawn twice per week, once on Tuesday and once on Friday, and its main prize can reach the whooping CA$70,000,000. Once passed the CA$50 million mark, its draws also offer several Maxmillion prizes worth CA$1,000,000 each.
Looking for the Other Five
In its statement, the Crown corporation informs that December 16 draw for Lotto Max’s jackpot worth CA$40,000,000 was won by a group of 10 people. The winning ticket is a group-play one or Formule groupe, however, its 10 holders do not know each other. So far five of the winners have contacted the agency, while the other five are yet to do so.
The group ticket was purchased in Montréal and currently, five of the jackpot winners do not know that they have each won an amazing CA$4,000,000. The Crown urges everyone who has bought a ticket for the said draw to double-check their tickets. If they hurry up and contact the agency, they might be able to cash out their hefty windfalls just in time for Christmas.
In its press, the Crown agency revealed that the winning combination for the CA$40,000,000 is 06, 22, 25, 42, 43, 45, and 48. The organization also reminds that tickets can be checked on its official website lotoquebec.com, at retailers, or via its Loto‑Québec Lotteries app. Prize winners are advised to contact the agency’s customer service team at 1–866-611-5686.
Quebecers Win Big in 2022
As the current year is coming to an end, it is worth mentioning that in 2022, Quebecers managed to obtain some hefty lottery prizes. One of the largest wins for the year went to Marcel Lussier, who in June obtained a life-changing CA$70,000,000 Lotto Max jackpot. The prize winner comes from Brossard and was previously employed at Hydro-Québec.
Mr. Lussier shared that he cashed out his prize at the very same building where he used to work, but now the future seems much more stress-free for him. With the hefty winnings, he commented that he would like to help an entrepreneur rebuild Ukraine. And as a treat for himself and his wife, he wanted them to go on a cruise together, as their previous one was annulled.
In September, Canada introduced a new and enhanced version of the classic Lotto 6/49. The new version comes with a guaranteed CA$5 million jackpot and a Gold Ball one which can increase. Then in November the first major Gold Ball prize worth CA$36,000,000 was won by a ticket holder from Quebec. The winner has 52 weeks to claim the cool prize money.
