Fallsview Casino Resort’s new multi-million entertainment centre is one step closer to its official opening. This week, its owner, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and its operator Mohegan Gaming Entertainment announced that it will be officially named OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino. The new venue is expected to launch this fall.
Now known as OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino was on schedule to open at the start of 2020, however, due to the emergence of the unprecedented situation it was delayed. But even when live entertainment returned at Fallsview Casino Resort last year, the CA$130-million-venue remained closed, and the OLG reported that it still has to apply some finishing touches to it.
Closer Than Ever to Opening
Duncan Hannay, OLG’s President and CEO, shared that the Crown is delighted to have partnered with MGE on this project, through which it will be able to provide more entertainment and tourism to the Niagara region. He added that the OLG is proud of the new facility, and he believes that OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino is another great example of OLGsā āPlay for Ontarioā.
Peter Bethlenfalvy, Ontario’s Minister of Finance commented that gambling and entertainment have always had a major part in the provinceās economy. He congratulated both the owner and operator of the casino for bringing this world-class entertainment initiative to Niagara Falls, as it would benefit the region by creating jobs and generating growth opportunities for local businesses.
The new and innovative 5,000-seat venue should open in the fall and it boasts state-of-the-art sound and lights systems, and an unobstructed view from every seat. Thus, making it an exceptional entertainment venue for every visitor. The theatre will also offer food and beverage amenities since it is directly connected to the Fallsview Casino Resort through a newly developed glass corridor which provides easy access for all guests.
Richard Taylor, President, of Niagara Casinos also shared his excitement about the new entertainment centre. He is optimistic that the venue will increase tourism in Niagara Falls, provide more hotel stays and bolster customer experience. He also hinted that the casino has prepared a riveting live show schedule which will be revealed to the public in the upcoming weeks.
Reopening All Amenities
In July 2022, Fallsview Casino Resort made another step towards full recovery from the previous closures. After two long years, the gaming property finally reopened its Grand Buffet. The diner restarted work on July 21, 2022, and it is now available for patrons and guests from Thursday to Monday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. It offers its usual food selection as well as some new ones to spice up the menu.
Expanding to Online Markets
Patrons of Fallsview Casino Resort will be also glad to learn that the gaming brand is now available to play online in Ontario. A few months ago, MGE informed that it has been approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to operate in the new iGaming market. The online platform is branded PlayFallsview, and it is live to play in the province.
