Over 258 staff members of a factory in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve are now joyous that its employer Scientific Games has inked a new agreement with Loto-Québec. The deal in question has made the gaming provider one of the main partners of the Crown corporation. Thus, taking over the mantle from its competitors Pollard Banknote who has been a trusted partner to the Crown.
Back in 2014, the Crown agency opted to rely on Scientific Games’ rivals from Manitoba – Pollard Banknote. During that time, the company produced almost 80% of the Crown’s instant ticket games. After renewing twice with the Manitoban supplier, just recently the lottery decided to make the U.S. company Scientific Games its main ticket provider.
Happy with the Entrusted Responsibility
Scientific Games’ Vice President for Canada, Marc-André Doyen, stated that the company and its teams are more than pleased with the new contract with the Crown corporation. The company’s Montreal factory is one of five across the globe. It is without a doubt one of the most secure in the province, as visitors must undergo security measures to gain access.
In his statement, Mr. Doyen compared the company’s operations of printing tickets to one that prints money. As in his words, government agencies from all over the world, have entrusted the responsibility of printing tickets to the provider. He noted that the company’s goal is to meet customers’ needs while maintaining the highest standards.
The 11,000-square-foot factory supplies gaming companies from all around the world, including Australia, the USA, France, Hungary, and more. It operates 24 hours a day, 51 weeks a year, and it produces more than 20 million scratch game tickets every day. And via the new agreement, it is estimated that 20% of its work will be now devoted to the Crown agency.
Scientific Games’ latest agreement with the Crown corporation was announced in the middle of July this year, and it makes the company the primary ticket supplier to the lottery. The two companies enjoy an immaculate partnership as for their 50 years of cooperation, the developer has produced and delivered over 4,500 instant game titles for the Quebec corporation.
The VP for Canada has also shared that the provider invests big every year in research and development, which has aided the firm in designing tickets from recycled paper and more. He commented that the Crown agency is also recognized as a flagship company that believes in innovation and producing new products, which perfectly aligns with the provider’s policies and goals.
Recognized for their Efforts
And speaking of innovation, recently the two companies received a Gutenberg Award at the 40th Annual Gala Gutenberg. This is in relation to their Folie des Plantes or Plant Madness instant game which is produced on 100% recyclable paper. The game was among the first ones to be printed on recyclable fibre.
