After two years of being sidelined, Casino Rama’s entertainment centre is ready for its highly-anticipated grand reopening this spring. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, the operator of the casino, has most currently announced that the entertainment venue at the property will be reopening on April 29, 2022, with country start Jake Owen starting off the fun.
Casino Rama’s entertainment centre has endured a tough spell over the last two years now, the venue closed down with the emergence of the unprecedented situation in March 2020. Since then there were plans for its reopening, but they never transpired. Previously, it was on track to open at the start of this year, but it was delayed due to a new virus variant.

This week, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has revealed what shows patrons at the casino can expect. As already mentioned, country star Jake Owen will kick things off on the reopening on Friday, April 29, 2022. Doors for the event open up at 8 p.m. Then, on May 6, the Chilliwack & Streetheart will entertain, tickets for the show start from CA$30 through CA$60.
As for new concerts or shows, the company revealed that comedian Howie Mandel will take over the state on Friday, May 13, at 9 p.m. sharp. Tickets for the event start at CA$45 all the way through CA$79.10. Shortly, after on Friday, May 20, 2022, singer Engelbert Humperdinck will be at the venue, and his concert is set to start also at 9 p.m.
Tom Cochrane with Red Rider are also set to perform at the entertainment centre this spring, as their concert is slated for Saturday, May 21, 2022. Tickets vary from CA$40 through CA$90. The company also reminds that illusionist Rick Thomas is also scheduled to perform his Mansion of Dreams this spring, his event is on May 7, 2022, at 7 p.m.
Ringo Starr and his all-star band are also scheduled to make an appearance at the casino’s entertainment centre this May. Their concert is on Friday, May 27. Tickets for the show start at CA$65 and vary through CA$115. The casino informs that exclusive advanced ticket sales for Casino Rama Facebook Fans and My Club Reward members for shows start on February 17 at noon.
Restriction Eased
This week, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has also stated that it plans to lift some of the health and safety protocols at the east of Orillia property. If health indicators in the province continue to improve, the company will remove its proof of vaccination requirement from March 1, 2022. Starting from February 17, 2022, casinos in the province are also allowed to operate in full capacity.
Director of Communications and Public Affairs the operator, Robert Mitchell, shared that Casino Rama’s staff members are excited to be back at work. At the start of this year, the property was closed down for a month, and employees have just returned, but in his words, this has not affected their mood. According to the company, over 550 workers returned back to work, at the start of this February.
