This week, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation has confirmed the latest big lottery winner from the province. The name of the lucky winner is Michael Redmile who comes from Quesnel and he has won a CA$1 million Guaranteed prize from a Lotto 6/49. With the money, the winner plans on spending it with his family and giving back to local communities.
Lotto 6/49 is a popular lottery game in Canada, with draws every Wednesday and Saturday, after 7:30 p.m. PST. Each round of the game comes with a Guaranteed CA$1 million prize, which is awarded to a random ticket holder. Last year, British Columbia lottery players have bagged more than CA$99 million in cash rewards from the nationwide game.
Next Lottery Millionaire
Mr. Redmile’s ticket for the December 11, 2021 draw turned out to be the winner for the round’s Guaranteed Prize worth CA$1 million. While at a BCLC prize centre to claim his hefty prize, the Quesnel resident shared some of his thoughts on his windfall. Mr. Redmile says that with the money he plans on buying a brand-new side by side for him and his girls.
In addition to that, the winner said that with the prize, he intends on giving back to his local community, as he has always wanted to help others. Hence a portion of the money will go to tidings. His life-changing ticket was acquired at the Frank’s Grocery Store, where he also found out he had won the big prize on his return.
The father says that he was in disbelief when he saw all the numbers pop up on the screen, and he even had to check the ticket a few more times, just to make sure. When he finally realized that he has won such a big prize, he called his father to tell him the tremendous news. In his words, his dad was in awe, and generally happy for his son.
More B.C. Winners
Recently, the BCLC revealed two more local winners from the lottery. The first one is a Surrey couple Arthur and Margaret Lyon. The pair won a CA$1 million from Lotto 6/49 draw when last November their ticket has been drawn as the winning one. Susan Dyson from Vancouver has also won a Guaranteed CA$1 million prize, from January 1, 2022 draw.
Mega Lotto 6/49 Now Won
This week, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation confirmed that the CA$14.2 million jackpot of Lotto 6/49 has been finally claimed. The Crown corporation further elaborated that the mega prize will be shared between two ticket holders, with one of the residing in Ontario and the other in Quebec. Their identities will be revealed once they claim they CA$7.1 million prizes.
Besides Lotto 6/49, Canadian lottery enthusiasts also adore the other quite popular game – Lotto Max. This game is also drawn two times per week, and the recent round on Tuesday did not find a winner for the CA$25 million jackpot. The next draw will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, and it will come with the impressive main prize of CA$30,000,000 which will be up for grabs.
