As the grand opening of Cascades Casino North Bay edges closer, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is looking to add even more staff members to the team. Currently, the company is hosting a two-week-long job fair to the hiring of over 200 more workers at the new Ontario property, which should open early in 2022.
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment started the development of their North Bay property back in 2019. However, due to the unprecedented circumstances in March 2020, the construction of the casino was delayed and allowed to resume in April 2021. Now, the gaming property situated on Pinewood Park Drive is almost ready to start operations.
Coming Early 2022
Recently, Director of Communication and Public Affairs for Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, Rob Mitchell commented that the company is hopeful to launch operations at the property in early 2022. The representative has also shared that the company managed to acquire construction materials and warehouse most of it before the lockdown kicked in full force.
Now, the company is hosting a two-week job fair and it is expected to hire more than 200 individuals for numerous positions at the new facility. According to Mr. Mitchell’s words, the casino would be able to provide around 300 jobs for locals from the community, and it will be able to generate approximately one or two million Canadian dollars per year for the region.
Mr. Mitchell has also shared that currently there are no ongoing developments on the exterior of the facility, but the staff is working on the interior. In his words, the work is infrastructure-related as lots of electrical work must be finished and fully operational for a casino. Then, the spokesperson says that there are also all the kitchen amenities that must be installed.
Despite the recent update on the property from the company, the representative of the gaming conglomerate did not provide a concrete date for the official opening of the casino facility in North Bay. He made it clear that all required staff will most probably be hired by early 2022. Then, the company will organize a soft opening, before it is available to the public.
Design and Offerings
Previously, the company provided some information on what the design of the new North Bay property will look like. It will have a similar exterior and interior to the company’s Cascades Casino Chatham. Additionally, the casino will come with premium gaming amenities as well as the company’s trademark the Match Eatery and Public House, which is perfect for grabbing a bite.
Delta Property
Currently, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is in the process of launching one more casino property in Canada, which will be located in Delta, B.C. Its name is Cascades Casino Delta and it will cost the company approximately CA$87 million to bring it to life. It is set to feature tons of gaming opportunities on its 40,000-square gaming floor, equipped with over 600 slot machines, and 30 live gaming tables.
