The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has currently announced that a Windsor construction worker is now a multimillionaire thanks to an instant scratch ticket. The name of the lucky player is Glenn Weitz and he is from Windsor and he has won the stunning amount of CA$3 million from a single Triple Millions ticket.
A Triple Million scratch-off tickets costs CA$30 and it has four game areas. Its players can win the CA$3 million main prize by revealing three identical prize amounts in one of the three areas, or in the fourth one named Lucky Numbers that can match the player’s numbers. The odds for winning the main prize are 3,109,875 to one in 6,219,750, depending on location.
Re-Counting the Zeros
After arriving at an OLG office to claim his hefty CA$3 million reward, Mr. Weitz shared some more details on his win. He explained that he is a regular lotto player that usually plays the Crown’s Poker LOTTO All In. And after winning CA$100 from it he decided to treat himself with a Triple Million ticket, which later secured him the life-changing prize.
The construction worker said that he discovered his while sitting in his truck after acquiring it at the MS Lakeshore Convenience on County Road 22 in the Emeryville area. Mr. Weitz claimed that he could not believe his own eyes and had to re-count the zeroes in the matching amount at least several times.
The winner shares that he run back into the store and the clerk also could not believe it and they even started celebrating together. In his words, other customers have also started jumping up and down from joy. He also says that he is pretty excited about the substantial lotto win and plans on investing most of the money.
Mr. Weitz’s win of CA$3 million is the largest one for the Windsor-Essex region so far for this calendar year. The construction worker has now claimed the last top prize of all the Triple Millions tickets in the province of Ontario for the current 2021. His recent win continues the trend to award millions of dollars to Canadians every year in scratch games.
