Last week, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment presented its overview plans for mobility and accessibility features that will be implemented in its new casino in the City of Delta. The company’s casino complex is currently under development and it will be named Cascades Casino Delta, and the accessibility features were presented to the city advisory committee.
Previously, the gaming leader informed that the complex will feature a 40,000 square-foot gaming floor which will be able to accommodate over 600 slot machines, as well as 30 live table games. The gaming company said that it will implement lessons learned from its Grand Villa property in Burnaby, and recommendations and guidelines provided by the World Health Organization.
In the recent presentation, the gaming leader told the committee that the new casino property would come with additionally accessible parking stalls in the parkade, which will be located in close proximity to the property’s entrances. Additionally, there will be wheelchair ramps, when necessary, between levels in the parking, as well as an accessible ramp up from the street level to the restaurant patio.
Also, the gaming conglomerated told the Mobility and Accessibility Committee that there will also be wheelchair-accessible wickets at the cash cage, which will be installed at a lower height. The property will also come with wheelchair-accessible bathroom stalls, trained first aid attendants on every shift, and wheelchair-wide spacing between slot machines to ensure easier access.

Hotel Operator Announced
The construction of Cascades Casino Delta is going well, assured Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, and recently, it revealed that it has found a hotel operator for the property. The deal is with P.R. Hotels, and the name of the hospitality venue will be A Delta by Marriott Hotel. According to information from the company, it will be a five-story hotel with meeting spaces that can accommodate from 116-120 people.
Tree Removal
Back in June 2020, the gaming company had to remove over 45 trees to begin the construction of the soon-to-be gaming facility. However, the company later informed that due to the removal the project will come with 225 new ones, which s a 5:1 increase. Thus, the number of trees at the location amounts to 507, which is tremendous news for the casino as it provides fresh air and a stunning view.
