Christine Lauzon was revealed to be the next Canadian lottery millionaire, after claiming her CA$70 million cheque last week. The winner of the largest lottery prize in the history of British Columbia, reveals that she had always dreamed of winning the lotto, but she never actually expected it to happen. Now, thanks to Lotto Max, her dreams have finally materialized.
Lotto Max is a weekly drawn lottery game with rounds on Tuesdays and Fridays, which enjoys great popularity among Canadian lottery enthusiasts. Tickets for the draw-based offering can be purchased online on the Crown agency’s official platform PlayNow.com or at retail locations in the province. The jackpot for the game can reach CA$70,000,000 and award several Maxmillion prizes.
Prize Acquired
After arriving at a BCLC office to claim her life-changing prize, Mr. Lauzon shared some details about her winnings. She chose her numbers through the Quick Pick option and she bought her ticket at the Shopper Drug Mart on Hastings Street in Burnaby. After, the draw, she discovered her win, by checking her ticket with the Crown’s Lotto! app and was quick to share the news with her close ones.
As she discovered that she is in fact, the winner of the CA$70,000,000 prize, she broke the news to her roommate and father next, who according to her, could not keep a straight face when hearing the news. Ms. Lauzon also says that she is still both nervous and excited at the same time. The Lotto Max draw on September 28 is a date she will never forget.
Ms. Lauzon says that the winning of such an enormous prize is a surreal feeling, but her first priority was to contact her financial advisor. Now, with the money, she plans to give a portion of it to her immediate family, and she says that she has a few ideas that are close to her heart before deciding how she will make an impact with the prize.
Lotto Max Remains Intact
And on a more current note, last week’s Lotto Max jackpot of CA$14 million has remained unclaimed. According to the Canadian lotteries, no ticket from the country matched the winning numbers from the Friday, October 22 draw. Now, the jackpot will rise to the impressive CA$19 million, and players can have a go at it on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
West Vancouver Winner
Also, last week the BCLC reported another major lottery winning from the province, but this time in the Lotto 6/49 game. According to the agency, a ticket holder from West Vancouver is now CA$10.2 million richer, after matching the winning numbers in the October 20 draw of Lotto 6/49. The winning combination is 06, 09, 34, 35, 48, and 49. The lucky player will have up to 52 weeks to claim their prize.
One More Winner Announced
In addition to that, the BCLC revealed the identity of one more Lotto 6/49 winner from the province. Juanita Parnell from Prince Rupert is now CA$5,790,419.90 richer, thanks to her Lotto 6/49 ticket. Ms. Parnell’s long-time lotto numbers of 7, 18, 19, 38, 42, and 46 have finally paid off and with the winnings, she plans to enjoy a vacation to Disney World with her grandchildren.
