Jerry Knott, from Wasagamack, is now significantly richer from the Lotto Max game after winning the staggering amount of CA$20 million. A while ago, the winner purchased a ticket for the game and forgot it in his pocket until discovering it during a Winnipeg visit.
The Lotto Max game is one of the most rewarding draw-based games in Canada, as its main prize can reach the whooping CA$70,000,000. Tickets for the game are available in online and physical variants and there are two draws every week. Besides, the jackpot, the game can also offer Maxmillion prizes, which are worth CA$1,000,000.
Pleasant Surprise
Mr. Knott bought a ticket for Lotto Max at Drifter Restaurant & Service in Lac du Bonnet, then placed it in his wallet and forgot about it. However, a month later while visiting Winnipeg for his daughter’s wedding he discovered that he won the amazing CA$20,000,000. The winner shared that at first that he thought that he had won CA$20,000 but in reality, it was much more.
After arriving at Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corporation’s prize centre to claim his hefty prize, Mr. Knott said that he had to scan the tickets again to make sure that he saw seeing right. He remembers seeing the number 20, which was followed by six zeroes. The winner claimed his prize on October 14, 2021.
Also, Mr. Knott shared with the public his plans to use some of the money to continue the development of a dream project on Big Stone Lake in Northern Manitoba, which he has already worked on with his family. He explained that he and his father set up a reserve status land on the lake, and decided to build cottages on the lake, that will be used as a treatment centre.
Lottery players can participate in the Lotto Max again this week, as the main prize will now grow bigger since no one from the country claimed it last Friday. On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the jackpot will amount to the stunning CA$55 million. Also, the Tuesday round will also offer four Maxmillion prizes up for grabs.
Record-Setting Jackpot
Recently, the Lotto Max jackpot reached its ceiling of CA$70,000,000 and the major prize was won by a B.C. resident. More specifically, the lucky ticket holder is located in Burnaby and he has to contact the BCLC, about claiming the prize. This is the largest lottery win in the history of the province and it was recorded with the September 28 draw.
CA$27-Million Winner Announced
In the summer, the province of Manitoba also reported a historic lottery win, but from the other most popular lottery game Lotto 6/49. Keith Spulnick from Fraserwood has been fortunate enough to be drawn as the winner of the CA$27.5 million jackpot in the May 12 round. Mr. Spulnick’s lucky numbers were 30, 35, 39, 42, 46, and 48.
