A lottery ticket holder from Burnaby, British Columbia now has a reason for major celebrations. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has announced that the CA$70,000,000 Lotto Max jackpot has finally been won during the Tuesday draw and its winner is from Burnaby. This win is one for the history books as it is the largest ever lottery prize in the province.
Lottery games in Canada are quite generous to their players, as for 2021 the BCLC has already paid out over CA$163 million in lotto prizes. This amount is only for Lotto Max alone. The game is drawn two times per week and its jackpot as in this case can reach the mind-blowing CA$70 million and also provides participants with the opportunity to win a Maxmillion prize.
A Date to Remember
The Lotto Max draw on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, has determined that a ticket holder from the province is the next big lotto winner. The Burnaby residents will undoubtedly remember the date as the day they have found financial freedom thanks to the CA$70 million jackpot. To this date, this is the largest lotto win in the history of B.C.
The winning numbers at the Tuesday draw were 02, 05, 08, 18, 23, 31, and 35. The winner’s ticket has managed to match all winning numbers and the odds for this are 1 in 33,294,800. The Crown says the winner has not yet contacted them, but he or she will have 52 weeks to claim their major prize before expiring. So, make sure to check your Lotto Max tickets.
Group Effort Pays Off
Another massive lottery winning from the country this week includes the ten co-workers from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, who have won a Lotto 6/49 prize. Terrington Co-op colleagues will now share the substantial amount of CA$6 million between them. Their winning was revealed by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation this week, but their win dates back to the May 29 Lotto 6/49 draw.
At the ALC office, Tony Chaulk and Naomie Adey shared that they were the first ones to check the group tickets and notice the prize. Then, they immediately contacted their co-workers to share the big news. Lori Ann Wiseman, Jerome Ivany, David Blackmore, Andy Budgell, Gilbert Yetman, Fred Humber, Carolyn Burry, and Richard Fines are the rest of the group.
Ontario Lotto Group Wins Big
This has not been the first time that a group of colleagues win a major prize from the Canadian lottery. A while back the OLG informed of a group of co-workers from Ontario, who have won a Maxmillion prize worth CA$1,000,000. The lotto group consists of 13 members who will now share the hefty prize and they have been playing together for more than a decade now.
Alberta Family Wins CA$18 Million
One more example of a group winning of a lottery prize is Dennis Hines and his family from Alberta who has won the impressive CA$18 million from Lotto 6/49. Mr. Hines purchased the ticket at Marwayne Service and Café, located at 407 Railway Avenue South in Marwayne, and after realizing the winning he was quick to inform his children Richard and Shanon. Now the family will share the huge prize, and they even plan on donating some of the money to charity.
