The British Columbia Lottery Corporation continues to improve its services as the Crown corporation has acquired a brand-new data provider. The deal is a multi-year one and it is with Genius Sports Limited, which is a data, technology, and commercial partner that connects sports, betting, and media. With this, the Crown prepares for the introduction of single-sports betting in the country.
The BCLC is the entity that manages and oversees all regulated gambling in the province of British Columbia including land-based and digital casinos, lottery offerings, bingo, and sports betting. Genius Sports’ technology is adopted and used in over 150 countries from around the globe, providing exceptional services to many fans in all kinds of sports.
Preparing for Single-Sports Betting
Genius Sports has already established partnerships with over 400 sporting organizations worldwide, including the biggest ones such as the NFL, EPL, FIBA, NCAA, NASCAR, AFA, and PGA. Now, the Crown agency will gain access to the company’s cutting-edge LiveData and LiveTrading brands to provide fans with real-time data and exact pricing on hundreds of sporting events each year.
The sports company’s exceptional portfolio of official data rights will also be included in the newest agreement with the BCLC. This way the Crown corporation will have at its disposal the company’s data rights to the Canadian Premier League, English Premier League, Euroleague Basketball, and many other sports leagues from around the globe.
CEO of Genius Sports, Mark Locke commented that the company’s partnership deal with the Crown entity.
