Almost every week a random Canadian lottery player becomes a multimillionaire by simply playing the country’s draw-based games of luck. Most recently, the Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation revealed the names of that the country’s next lottery millionaires as a couple from Simcoe, Ontario, has claimed their jackpot winnings from a previous Lotto 6/49 draw.
Canadians win hundreds of millions of dollars in the national lottery games and Lotto 6/49 is among the most popular games in the country. Each week there are two draws for the game, one on Wednesday and the other one on Fridays. Players can enter the draws by purchasing a ticket online or by acquiring one at their local lotto retailer.
June 12 Draw
Lately, another major lotto winning has been recorded in Ontario, as Margaret and Mark Peters have been generously awarded by the June 12 draw of Lotto 6/49. The Simcoe couple has won CA$9,440,109.40 from the draw-based game. The pair has also won CA$2 during the very same draw with the Encore game.
After arriving at an OLG office to claim their cheque, Ms. Peters explained that she screamed at the top of her lungs after seeing the winning numbers on the Crown’s official platform on Monday morning after the draw. The winners plan to share the money with their family, pay off their children’s mortgages, and treat themselves with a brand-new car.
B.C. Maxmillion Prize
A woman from B.C. has also had an eventful last month, as Christel Keller from Hope has won a Maxmillion prize from the June 18 draw of the Lotto Max game. The prize is worth CA$1 million, and the winner revealed that her dream of winning the lottery has finally come through and now she will be able to help out her family financially.
With the CA$1 million, Ms. Keller plans to pay for her grandson’s education and help out her daughter with some medical treatments. She also stated that she does not have to worry about money ever again and that she plans to go on many trips in the future. According to her, once it is safe to do so, her first destination will be Tahiti.
More Winnings
Recently, Ontario has witnessed some major lottery winnings as the June 22 draw of the Lotto Max game saw the main prize finally claimed. After a long wait, the CA$70 million jackpot has been claimed. There were two winning tickets with the numbers 07, 11, 22, 28, 33, 44, and 49, one of the winners is from Toronto, and the other one is residing in British Columbia.
Alberta has also most recently found its newest lotto millionaire as the Western Canada Lottery Corporation reported that someone from the province has won CA$18 million in last week’s draw of Lotto 6/49. The lucky winner will have the task of finding a purpose for the impressive amount of CA$18.6 million dollars. The winning numbers are 4, 5, 18, 28, 35, and 42.
