Evolution Gaming Enters Alberta’s Online Gaming Space

Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Corporation revealed that it will be expanding its online gambling offerings to the province. This will be possible with the Crown agency’s latest partners in the name of Evolution Gaming. Albertans will be able to enjoy the content provider’s exciting online titles such as Roulette, Infinite Blackjack, Baccarat, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em.

Evolution Gaming was founded back in 2006 and over the course of its existence has cemented its place among the top gaming software providers in the world. The content supplier has developed numerous partnerships on the way to the top providers and currently has over 300 casino operators as clients. Its content will be available to Alberta gaming enthusiasts on the province’s legally regulated online platform – PlayAlberta.ca.

Even Greater Variety

Thanks to the recent agreement between the two organizations, Albertan will be able to expand their gaming opportunities with the content provider’s fan-favorite titles such as Roulette, Infinite Blackjack, Baccarat, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. According to plans even more games of the supplier will be added to Alberta’s online gaming platform. In order for a player to access the platform, he must be at least 18 years of age and be physically present within the province.

The Crown corporation strives towards bringing a safe gambling environment to its player base. Revenue accumulated through its online platform is directed to the province’s General Revenue Fund which supports and funds many local community groups and services. Estimations show that for the 2019-20 fiscal year over CA$1.4 billion was generated by gaming income alone.

Commercial Director of Evolution Gaming Jeff Millar commented on the provider’s recent extension of jurisdiction to the province of Alberta. Speaking on behalf of the company, he stated that they are extremely happy to offer Albertans their portfolio of online games and that the company is devoted to provide many more exciting games to the many local gambling fanatics.

The Alberta agreement will be the third example of a government-run lottery agency to join efforts with the renowned gaming provider in search of great game variety. Previously, the gaming company launched its products in British Columbia through the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and in Quebec with its overseeing gambling regulator Loto-Québec.

Gambling During Lockdown

Back in October 2020, the gaming regulator for Alberta green-lighted the launch of an online gambling website that allowed the province’s gambling devotees to place bets amidst the closure of land-based casino halls. However, the introduction of PlayAlberta.ca has been faced with some public disapproval, since the ability to bet online might be harmful to players who then had much more spare time.

Single-Event Bets

The Alberta gaming regulator recently addressed the ongoing talks of introducing single-events wagering offerings to the Canadian public. The Crown agency came out and backed the proposed change in gaming law, by stating that this would be a step in the right direction for the industry’s future. The corporation supported its stance by claiming that such legalization will be of significant use for both the local economy and gambling fans who had to look for offshore alternatives in order to bet on a single event.
