North Bay would soon have a new premium hotel, as Gagandeep Dhinsa, chief risk officer for Brampton-based BVD Petroleum, recently confirmed. The owner wants to build a Four Points by Sheraton hotel right next to Cascades Casino North Bay that is currently under construction. The new hotel is expected to introduce 50 new job positions to the local job market.
North Bay is preparing for busy upcoming years as several larger projects are expected to be greenlighted in the foreseeable future. Cascades Casino North Bay is still in its construction phase and the unprecedented situation has hit a pause on it. In the meantime, additional development might be taking place in the area, as it became clear. Accommodation options in North Bay could soon increase.
Four Points by Sheraton
Four Points by Sheraton hotel is in the plans at the moment, a hospitality project that could welcome many of the casino patrons making their way to Cascades Casino North Bay. This is expected to make their stay in North Bay longer, as they could extend their stay over a couple of days and have their accommodation close to the casino complex.
Ms. Dhinsa is the owner of the existing truck stop located on Pinewood Park Drive, already a busy location welcoming many individuals on a day-to-day basis. BVD Petroleum oversees the location and it is now interested in diversifying the offerings and making this side of the city even more attractive for individuals from near and far. Four Points by Sheraton hotel is projected to cost about CA$15 million.
The new hotel tower is expected to feature 120 rooms up for grabs, while it also boosts the local employment market. As many as 50 new job positions are about to be created with the launch of the new hotel building Ms. Dhinsa made it clear that construction of the premium hotel could commence by the end of 2020.
Cascades Casino North Bay
This week saw Ontario’s government announce its three-phase business reopening plan that would enter its first phase on May 19. This first stage is going to include resuming construction projects along with the reopening of many local businesses, which would give a green light to Cascades Casino North Bay. As for the new Four Points by Sheraton, BVD Petroleum would first have to obtain some permits from the province and the City of North Bay.
The area features a popular Tim Hortons building, as well as a Burger King restaurant under construction. Right across Pinewood Park Drive, there is the Ramada by Wyndham Pinewood Park Resort expected to welcome its guests back in the summer months of this year. Ms. Dhinsa also added that locals would feel confident that there is a large development such as the premium hotel regardless of the unprecedented situation.
Cascades Casinos North Bay was expected to be finished later this year, as its construction commenced in May 2019. The CA$31.1-million casino complex is expected to provide job positions for up to 300 individuals hailing from the region. It is about to span over 39,000 square feet of area, bringing together gambling offerings, as well as family-friendly offerings.
