When it comes to lottery winners, they always have surprising stories making the entire experience even more special. It is as if the universe has been giving them hints ahead of the winning draw.
A couple hailing from Langley recently received their CA$250,010 thanks to a ticket they had forgotten about. Luckily, they cashed it in before its expiry date 52 weeks after the draw one. When purchasing lottery tickets, some players simply have a feeling about it and are quick to check the pieces of paper as soon as possible.
Others assume this would not be their winning draw either and simply forget to check the ticket for months on end. Rhonda and Steven Evjenth realized they are sitting on a pot of gold later than expected, but still several months ahead of the deadline.
Lotto 6/49 Preferred by Many
Their winning purchase was made mid-April this year, in the days prior to the April 20 Lotto 6/49 and BC/49 draw and as it turned out, it was a rather generous one. About half a year ago, the couple became eligible for the cash payout without even realizing it, until recently.
The two of them made the winning purchase at the Super Save gas station in Langley. BC/49 is the local lottery offering that is unique to British Columbia and it has the potential to elevate the experience with an additional prize.
By participating in the two separate games their cash prize increased from CA$250,000 to CA$250,010. They found out about the cash prize while they were out running errands once again, about half a year later.
Mr. Evjenth was the one who scanned the ticket and realized the two of them are now much richer. He even decided to double-check and went to another store for a second opinion. The ticket remained a winning one. Mrs. Evjenth was ecstatic at the sight of the cash prize and the couple is already planning their next move. Hawaii might be in the plans for the foreseeable future.
Grandma Is a Millionaire
Another player hailing from Ontario proves that it is never too late to see your life completely changed thanks to a lottery jackpot. Patricia Hyde from Port Elgin recently found out that she is eligible for one of the CA$1,000,000 prizes coming with a Lotto 6/49 regular draw. The Guaranteed $1 Million Prize was part of the September 21 draw, an especially lucky one for the 63-year-old woman.
The woman danced and screamed with joy upon realizing that she is Canadaās newest lotto millionaire now. Her children and grandchildren are going to benefit from the prize, as all of them are planning trips and various projects. Mrs. Hyde made her winning purchase at The Bare Necessities on Patrick Street in Fordwich.
She bagged her prize at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation office in Toronto. October 1 brings a hefty CA$60,000,000 Lotto MAX Main prize that could be snatched by a lucky player or divided among several of them. Moreover, the draw brings a total of six CA$1,000,000 Maxmillions, further making it an appealing draw. Tomorrow comes with a CA$17,000,000 Lotto 6/49 Main prize.
