Casino venues are often associated with cigarette smoke and long hours of gaming that could take their toll on casino patrons’ health. Seeking clearer air, casino venues are willing to work on smoke-free zones such as the River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch, Alberta.
This week saw the official launch of its brand new Embers area that would welcome smokers and elevate the player experience. Canada is known for its strive to improve people’s livelihood especially when it comes to enclosed spaces that suppose longer stay.
Casino venues are among those areas that are smoke-free in other provinces according to the Clean Air Act aiming to introduce a breath of fresh air following the Canadian Environmental Protection Act from 1999.
Casino Goes Smoke-Free
Alberta is the province that allows its local businesses to make the decision for themselves and River Cree Resort’s management decided to make the change. The tribal casino operation had to step up its game and introduce a new zone part of its general renovation.
This month was projected to see the launch of the special Embers area that expands the casino floor and improves the time spent there. This brand new area of the building features a state-of-art ventilation system that is capable of maintaining the air as clean as it should be. This area is going to make it possible for smokers to enjoy their cigarettes indoors instead of going out.
It would also make non-smokers’ experience much more pleasant at the end of the day, as there would be no tobacco smoke across the casino venue. Instead of going out in the heat, smokers will enjoy the Embers areas and the ONYX Lounge providing even more opportunity for spending one’s time at River Cree Casino. In addition to that, the casino venue also returns with more slot machines available on site welcoming an even bigger crow do the casino floor.
New Area Welcomes Smokers Only
It would also welcome back players with several new dice tables and a VIP area that elevates the experience and increases the betting limits for all high-roller enthusiasts. Enoch Cree Nation is the First Nations band occupying the region and having the right to operate a tribal casino complex offering both gambling and accommodation.
The community has two reserves, one of which on the western edge of the City of Edmonton. This allows it to have even better control over its tribal casino complex. October 2006 saw the official launch of operation on site of River Cree Casino and Resort, following an extensive construction and preparation. The project equated to CA$210 million and ensured that locals and guests of the Edmonton area will experience both premium gaming and excellent accommodation opportunity.
Its casino venue is known for being the largest one in the Edmonton area with its 1,150 slot machines, 10 VLT machines, and 40 table games. For everyone interested in more gaming offerings, the venue also features a special poker area that elevates the experience and offers live tournaments on a daily basis.
