Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation takes seriously its responsibility to support every host community and ensure it is compensated for the casino operation. This is why the Town of Milton recently received the annual cheque with allocation amassed thanks to the gambling revenue of Elements Casino Mohawk. Over the past fiscal year, this portion of the revenue managed to reach a total of CA$6,142,031.
Casino operation usually comes with the added benefit of regular allocations coming from the gambling corporation overseeing the field. In this sense, the most recent share of the revenue pie is not a surprise for Milton, as this is the annual boost expected by town officials. The casino cash is usually invested in the improvement of the community, such as roadworks and various beautification projects.
Casino Operation Boosts Community
With the help of the Municipal Contribution Agreement, Milton bagged the cash compensation for the past fiscal year and the upgrades around the town are expected to be visible in the following months. Jake Pastore, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporationās Director of Municipal and Community Relation stated that gambling operation throughout the province is able to support various projects across the host communities.
When it comes to Milton, up until this point the gaming revenue generated by the casino has been able to improve the Milton Leisure Centre and FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. Last year the renovations and upgrades were possible thanks to the CA$377,000 slice of the gambling allocation that was reinvested in the community.
Among the crucial upgrades implemented to the two facilities were a brand new heating and cooling system for the activities area of Milton Leisure Center, as well as the upgrade of FirstOntario Arts Centerās exterior making it a safer facility that is also easy on the eye. This comes to show that when it comes to gambling, there are always two sides to the situation.
Great Canadian Gaming Manages Elements Casino Mohawk
In relation to the 2019 budget, town officials have already discussed the positive influence of the casino venue in Milton. The annual allocation is going to be invested in Milton and support various services including engineering, community support, in addition to planning and development across the town.
Further conversation would be needed, as evaluation of projects in need of support is going to take place in the foreseeable future. Ever since 1999 the town has been receiving annual financial support from Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, with the overall tally surpassing CA$108 million. Great Canadian Gaming Corporation oversees the day-to-day operation on site ever since last spring, when OLG picked the operator for its modernization process across Ontario.
Together with Clairvest Group Inc. the operator acquired the locations of the West Greater Toronto Area Bundle including OLG Casino Brantford, OLG Slots at Mohawk Racetrack, OLG Slots at Flamboro Downs, as well as OLG Slots at Grand River Raceway. The arrangement cost some CA$134 million and included a rebranding of the venues to Elements Casino Brantford, Elements Casino Flamboro, Elements Casino Grand River, and Elements Casino Mohawk.
